For the first half of 2021/22 MY, the export potential of Russian peas was achieved by almost 90%

According to the data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, in the period from July to December 2021/22 MY, 804.6 thousand tons of peas were exported from the country, which is 74% higher than the shipped volume for the same period a season earlier (462.2 thousand tons) and is a record figure for the above period in the entire history of observations. According to the results of the first half of the current season, Turkey became the key importer of Russian legumes, having purchased 182.4 thousand tons, having increased purchases by 3 times compared to the same period in 2020/21 MY (68.6 thousand tons). Bangladesh occupies the second position, having imported 173.6 thousand tons of peas over the above period, which is 6 times more than in the previous season (26.8 thousand tons).
