For the first time in history, a billion chicken eggs were produced in the Ryazan region of Russia

In 2021, in the Ryazan region, farms of all forms of ownership produced 1,013.9 million chicken eggs, which is 4.5% more than in 2020. These are the preliminary data of Ryazanstat. Agricultural enterprises of the region produced 960.7 million eggs, growth in this sector amounted to 5%. The main producer is AO Okskoye of the Ryazan region, which is one of the largest Russian enterprises in its field. Okskoye JSC continues to expand production: at the end of 2021, two new poultry houses for young animals for 128 thousand heads each were filled with livestock, the company is building an egg store and three new poultry houses for laying hens for 256 thousand heads each. The production of chicken eggs in the history of the Ryazan region during the Soviet period reached its maximum in 1988-1989 - 560 million pieces; the region then surpassed 560 million eggs in 2009 thanks to a significant increase in production at Okskaya Poultry Farm (now JSC Okskoye).
