The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Saparkhan Omarov, has highlighted the country's potential in meeting foreign demand for mutton, with significant requirements anticipated from China, the Eurasian Union, the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia by 2026. Omarov emphasized the need to enhance sheep breeding to compete globally, underscoring plans to incentivize farmers, adopt advanced practices, offer preferential loans for new equipment, and provide pasture land. This initiative is set within the framework of a new national project aimed at the sustainable growth of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial sector, which includes several measures to bolster sheep breeding and support shepherds.
