Russian foreign economic activity review: Gluten free

The global wheat gluten market is growing annually and, according to forecasts, by 2025 will amount to $ 2.6 billion, which is 24.4% more than in 2020. Market growth is mainly due to the development of the food industry, since wheat protein is widely used in the bakery and confectionery industry as a flour improver, as well as as a substitute for animal protein in the production of meat-free food products. Russia last year sent 56 thousand tons of gluten to foreign markets in the amount of 68 million dollars, which corresponds to the 8th place among world exporters.
