In the 2022/2023 hazelnut export season, which started on September 1, 2022 and ended on August 31, 2023, the amount of hazelnut exported throughout our country was 299 thousand 462 tons, while foreign currency inflow of 1 Billion 798 Million 876 Thousand dollars was provided. Compared to the previous season, hazelnut exports in the 2022/23 season decreased by 12 percent and foreign currency inflows decreased by 9 percent. European countries, which are traditional export markets, took the largest share in hazelnut exports to a total of 122 countries. In the 2022/2023 hazelnut export season, Trabzon alone achieved 34 percent of the total hazelnut export amount. 101 thousand 858 tons of hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon and 615 million 648 thousand 471 dollars of foreign currency inflow was provided in return.
