Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, reported that five out of 240 forest fires in more than 30 cities are still not contained, but there is no immediate threat to settlements. The government is using significant resources, including aircraft, helicopters, water tankers, and personnel, to fight the fires. The Minister also indicated that Turkey is considering providing aid to neighboring Greece. The fires have resulted in significant damage, with over 7,000 farmers affected in six provinces, leading to claims totaling 102 million 464 liras from the Agricultural Insurance Pool. The government has committed to reforesting the affected areas and has promised to rebuild damaged houses within a year.
