In the Volgograd region, the season for planting new forests has begun. In one month, nearly three million young trees will appear there. Ash trees, pines, elms, and oaks adapt best to the steppe climate. Young groves are emerging around cities and industrial sites. Foresters maintain balance and each year plant at least as many trees as died in the previous year. Usually, this norm is exceeded twofold, and in 2025, it was exceeded by four times. Antonina Ozerova, Director of the Ilovlinsky Forestry, said: "We are planting pine here, and here the soil is sandy. Why is mechanized planting here? Because for pine, it is desirable to have a straight root system. The machine allows us to do this more evenly. And the root will not bend. There will be very good survival." This year, it is planned to plant trees on 2000 hectares in the region. To cover such an area, foresters will be allocated additional equipment. Six tractors have been purchased for the region.
