The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and Bangladesh's Department of Livestock Services have formed 5,500 farmer groups to boost the country's livestock sector. These groups will receive investment to increase productivity, improve market access, and enhance climate change resilience. The groups will include various livestock types and will be established across 61 districts. The FAO's Livestock and Dairy Development Project, funded by the World Bank, is collaborating with the Department of Livestock Services to establish and support these groups. The project aims to create a national livestock sector management strategy, establish farmer field schools, and draft national policy.
