Dragon fruit cultivation has become a profitable cash crop in the Rajshahi region of Bangladesh, particularly in the Barind tract. It is a lucrative business that has been popular in Southeast Asia and China. Farmers like Shafiul Islam Mukta and Asadul Islam Helal have found success in dragon fruit farming, with potential earnings of Tk27 lakh and Tk16 lakh respectively. The fruit, which is rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, is also known for its health benefits. The tree can last for 20-30 years and produce 20-25 fruits per season. Despite being a new addition to the country's agricultural landscape, there is already a demand for the fruit among the population.
