Four out of ten Costa Ricans do not consume frozen chicken for fear of getting sick

Among the findings, it is worth highlighting that 48.7% of people consume frozen chicken-based products, such as breaded patties and nuggets, among others. On the contrary, 51.3% would not consume these products. Health and possible chronic conditions, with 39.9% of responses, were the main reason why most people said they did not consume this type of food, followed by the lack of liking for the product, with 34%. When asked, it was found that 54.5% of people who consume these products say they read the instructions on the packaging. Of these, 61.2% are between 35 and 49 years old and 52.6% are between 18 and 34 years old. Likewise, 60.3% correspond to people with university studies. Regarding the way in which the product is cooked, the results reported that the most commonly used utensil is the conventional frying pan (77.3%), followed by the air fryer (29.4%) and the microwave (9.7%).
