France's pork export volume is projected to decrease by 9.3% in 2022, reaching 656,000 tons carcass weight equivalent (cwe), with an additional 156,000 tons cwe of offal. On the other hand, imports are expected to rise by 7.9% to 655,000 tons cwe (including 77,000 tons of offal). Despite the drop in exports and increase in imports, the trade balance for 2022 remains positive at 79,000 tons, a decrease from 197,000 tons in 2021. The self-sufficiency rate also saw a decrease, from 106.2% in 2021 to 100.5% in 2022.
