The Free Trade Agreement between the UK and Vietnam (UKVFTA) has led to over 94% of fruit and vegetable categories being zero-rated, providing market access advantages for Vietnamese produce over countries like Brazil, Thailand, and Malaysia. Local governments and companies are encouraged to focus on large-scale cultivation and the use of high-quality technologies for a sustainable and efficient value chain. There has been a 9.5% increase in fruit and vegetable exports, reaching a value of € 1.2 billion in the first four months of the year, with China being the largest market. Vietnam has also seen increased exports to other countries such as Egypt, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Senegal.
