The Mediterranean region's fresh fruit and vegetable exports saw a 9% increase in January compared to the same period last year, generating $2.73 billion in revenue in 2020. The most exported products were tomatoes, lemons, and pomegranates. There was a significant increase in the export volume of onions, potatoes, and other products such as cauliflower, chestnuts, apples, and peppers. Russia was the main market for these exports, followed by Romania and Syria, which experienced the highest export increase.
