Malaysia has started exporting fresh durians to Zhengzhou, China, by air, thanks to a quarantine inspection agreement with China. This method reduces the delivery time to 36 hours, significantly faster than the two to three weeks it previously took by sea transport of frozen durians. The first batch of fresh durians was received warmly in China. The 21st China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, Guangxi province, saw Malaysia as the guest of honor, celebrating the 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations. The expo featured various domestic products from ASEAN countries, with Malaysia promoting fresh durians among other products.
