From 2025, large agricultural holdings of Ukraine plan to sow cotton in Ukraine on an industrial scale

In Ukraine, this year, cotton will be planted on demonstration fields, and from 2025, large agricultural farms plan to grow this crop on an industrial scale. Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Stepan Chernyavskyi reported this, the Ukrainian Information Service writes. It should be noted that recently the Verkhovna Rada voted for draft law No. 10427-1, developed and initiated by Stepan Chernyavskyi, "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Distribution of Cotton Varieties in Ukraine." The document provides for the introduction of cotton cultivation procedures in Ukraine. The main region of its concentration should be Odesa. International companies "BAER", "BASF", MeyAgro TukhumSuluk and Corteva Agriscence agreed to give cotton seeds to farmers for free.
