The United States registered the warmest March on record for the contiguous territory since measurements began. New data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Information indicated that the national average temperature far exceeded historical values from the 20th century. The phenomenon was concentrated in a wide swath stretching from the West Coast to the southern part of the North American country. States between California and Texas led the highest records for that period.
