From Coffee to Palm Oil Boosts Farmers' Exchange Rate by July 2025
NTP above the figure of 100 indicates that farmers are experiencing a surplus.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The national Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in July 2025 was recorded at 122.64 percent, rising by 0.76 percent compared to the previous month's NTP, which was at 121.72. This increase indicates an improvement in the welfare of farmers in general, especially because the prices of agricultural commodities received by farmers have increased more than their expenses. According to the BPS, the NTP is one of the indicators for measuring the level of farmers' purchasing power in rural areas. The NTP is obtained from the ratio of the price index received by farmers (lt) to the price index paid by farmers (lb), multiplied by 100. An NTP above 100 indicates that farmers are experiencing a surplus, meaning that income from agricultural products is greater than household consumption expenses and farming costs.
