The town of Coronel Suárez, located on the western side of southern Buenos Aires, is known as the "mecca" of winter crops and, within them, of barley. With most of its fields under irrigation, and a better climatic profile, it is known that producers obtain better yields there than in the surrounding areas. This explains why the commercial lines with the greatest potential, but also the most environmental demands, are destined for those latitudes. This is the case of the latest launch by Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes, the Florence variety, which promises yields of up to 12,000 kilos per hectare, between 3,000 and 4,000 more than its predecessor, Montoya.
