Italy: Courgettes are still above 2 euros, and tomatoes falling

Vegetable prices dropped a bit, but remained stable for several items. The main indicator is courgettes which, with the medium size, have dropped from 2.50 euros last week, but are still above 2 euros per kg. With the paradox that Italian courgettes, destined for abroad, cost the same as average Spanish imported courgettes: the former costs 1.90 euros, the latter 1.80 euros. Tomatoes are also decreasing, with bunch tomatoes under 2 euros and datterino tomatoes under 3, but they sell little and there is foreign competition. Artichokes range from 40 to a maximum of 75 cents per flower depending on the variety. Wide range for clementines, from 0.50 up to 3 euros for the non-Israeli product, and the Tarocco oranges with the larger sizes hold the price at around 2 euros per kg.
