In the coming week, orchard farmers across Poland should remain particularly vigilant. The latest meteorological forecasts and warnings indicate a return to typically winter conditions, including frosts, which may pose a serious threat to fruit crops currently in the intensive growth phase. Analysis of weather models suggests that the end of April will not bring stabilization of thermal conditions. On the contrary – an influx of cold air masses is expected, which may cause temperatures to drop below zero, especially during the night and morning hours. In the coming days, maximum temperatures in many regions of the country will not exceed 10–13°C, and in the north they may even oscillate within the range of 5–9°C. However, the minimum values will be much more threatening – the predicted frosts may reach levels from -1°C to -5°C, and locally even lower.
