In May, South Korea experienced a significant surge in chicken imports, with a 33.9% increase from the previous year, totaling 14,895 tons. The majority of these imports were sourced from Brazil, with the United States and Thailand also contributing. Legs were the most commonly imported chicken part. On the other hand, imports of heat-treated chicken from China and Thailand saw a slight decrease from the previous month. Overall, the volume of heat-treated chicken imports increased by 20.2% year-on-year, but there was a 13.3% decrease from the previous month.
