Spanish imports of fresh fruits and vegetables in June 2023 increased by 5.5% in volume and 17.5% in value compared to June 2022. Notable increases were seen in pumpkin, onion, and potato imports from France and Portugal. Avocado imports from Peru and Brazil also saw a significant increase in volume. The growth in imports is attributed to various factors, including the community regulatory framework, and it is unlikely that mirror clauses will be applied to equalize competition conditions in the near future.
