The Brazilian Fruit Growers-Exporters Association (Abrafrutas) expects a rise in fruit exports to Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, China, and South Korea, in the upcoming year. The main fruits exported are melons, grapes, mangos, and limes. Exports are projected to reach USD1 billion by the end of the year, with the Middle Eastern market showing great potential. Obtaining the halal certificate, which signifies the product was manufactured in accordance with Muslim precepts, could further boost Brazil's fruit export presence in the Arab market.
