Moldovan fruit producers are criticizing the national catalog of plant varieties, calling for the inclusion of new and popular varieties currently not official. Gheorghe Gaber, Chairman of the Association of Table Grape Producers, has proposed three seedless grape varieties for inclusion, arguing they could modernize the industry. However, despite these varieties being in circulation for over a decade, official status has not been granted. The producers also highlighted the need for advancements in fruit fashion and market logistics. The article also discusses the improvement in cherry cultivation through the inclusion of vegetatively propagated rootstocks and the struggle to include the American walnut variety "Chandler" in the catalog, highlighting the challenges and successes in improving Moldova's fruit cultivation.
