China is moving towards authorizing the export of grapes, avocados, and lemons from Brazil, potentially generating sales worth US$9 million. The country's fruit exports, which make up 1.03 million tons or 95% of the global production, are primarily focused on the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, with a favorable exchange rate and growing demand for healthy food, exporters anticipate a 15% increase in foreign sales by the end of the year, reaching US$1 billion. Additionally, plant-based meat company NextGen is planning to enter the Brazilian market by 2022 or 2023, aiming for 15% to 25% of its global sales. Swedish meteorology company Ignitia has secured US$4.2 million in funding to launch its crop decision support services in Brazil, and agtech startup FarmBox aims to expand its management platform for rural properties to cover 2.8 million hectares by December.
