Functional Ingredient Levels Double Pharmacopeia Standards: Miaoli's "Cat-Raccoon Salvia" Selects Strains, Introduces Mechanical Harvesting to Earn "Red Gold"

Miaoli County has been promoting the cultivation of medicinal Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen) since 2021. The Agricultural Improvement Station of Miaoli District has selected excellent Danshen varieties, with the key ingredient "Tanshinone IIA" reaching 0.3%, which is twice the standard of the Taiwan Pharmacopoeia, providing farmers with stable seed sources.
