Gangjin County (Mayor Gang Jin-won) has introduced a new flower crop, 'Oxypetalum', which is receiving attention as a new source of income due to its excellent evaluation in terms of both growth adaptability and economic efficiency. This year, Gangjin County promoted a pilot cultivation of 660㎡ each in three farms and recorded a high sales performance of approximately 60,000 won per 3.3㎡ at the second harvest. Oxypetalum was introduced in two varieties, bright blue and white. Due to its unique color and excellent longevity as a cut flower, it has a high rarity value in the flower market. Particularly, it is being noted as a niche market response variety as it is forming a high unit price in the premium demand sectors such as weddings, interior decoration, and event decorations.
