The Netherlands' largest fruit cooperative, FruitMasters, is set to launch a taste guide for apples in collaboration with Essensor and Wageningen University & Research. The guide, based on a study of over 90,000 observations and 40 apple varieties, aims to standardize the segmentation of apple tastes. The guide will allow consumers to choose apples based on specific attributes and will help buyers and category managers to optimize their assortment. FruitMasters is launching a campaign, 'You have apples and then you have apples,' to promote the new standard and encourage consumers to try a wider variety of apples.
