Georgia has imported sunflower oil from Kazakhstan for the second time in history due to unavailability of suppliers. In May, an agreement was made for the supply of domestic food products to Georgia, resulting in the import of over 300 tons of sunflower oil from Kazakhstan worth more than $500,000. Imports of fertilizers, wheat, and spices also increased. However, the Georgian market is not attractive for Kazakhstani producers, and Georgia is seen as a logistical opportunity for Kazakhstan to export products to Western and Eastern markets.
