Georgia's hazelnut exports have seen a significant increase in the 2020-2021 season, with a 55.4% rise in revenue to $86.1 million and a 52.8% increase in volume to 16.5 thousand tons compared to the previous year. The European Union accounts for 71% of these exports, with major recipients being Germany, Italy, and Spain. Other destination countries include Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and the United States, among others. Since the end of harvesting in August, exporters have been purchasing stored hazelnuts from producers, anticipating the total export volume of the 2020 harvest to reach between 50-55 thousand tons.
