German kale season officially starts on November 1

Even though kale no longer needs frost per se these days, many consumers and growers are waiting for the colder frosty days and nights so that the kale really tastes good. The fast-growing leafy cabbage variety is harvested from September until well into the winter months of January and February. With the motto "Hello kale", the season is officially opened on the first Sunday of November on the market square in Oldenburg, the "cabbage tour capital" of Germany.
