Despite lower yields, the soybean harvest in Germany in 2025 is expected to exceed the previous year's production, reaching a new record, according to the German Association for the Promotion of Oilseeds and Grains (UFOP). The increase is mainly based on the larger area planted with the crop, experts explain. Statistics indicate that until 2015, soybean cultivation did not play a major role in Germany, but since then, things have changed. In 2025, the cultivation area was increased by about 8% compared to 2024, reaching 43,600 hectares. Preliminary data from the German Federal Statistical Office shows a soybean harvest of 134,300 tons, which is an increase of just over 2,500 tons on an annual basis. The growth is based on the expansion of areas, while the average yields have decreased from approximately 3.8 tons per hectare to 3.2 tons.
