The head of Indonesia's National Food Agency, Arief Prasteyo Adi, anticipates a decrease in garlic prices due to a decrease in price in China. Despite this anticipation, Indonesia is still experiencing a garlic deficit as its domestic production does not meet the demand. The country's production is projected to reach only 30,582 tons in 2022, while the annual demand is 648,580 tons. The Ministry of Agriculture has issued the RIPH for garlic and is awaiting import approval from the Ministry of Trade.
