The Geumsan Agricultural Technology Center urged timely pest control for unexpected pests to ensure stable production of major crops in the region. To this end, the center supplied pest control agents last week for 1,188 hectares of farmland in 215 villages cultivating fruit trees, ginseng, and medicinal herbs. The county anticipates that timely pest control will help prevent crop damage, reduce economic losses for farmers, and support stable farming. Representative unexpected pests include the brown-winged leafhopper, spotted lanternfly, and spotted moth, which weaken crop growth by sucking plant sap and cause sooty mold through their excretions.
