South Korea: Geumsan-gun, exports of ginseng in the first half increased by 53.2% compared to the previous year

[Reporter Song Hae-chang, Korea Rural Newspaper] In the first half of Geumsan-gun, ginseng exports amounted to 13.5537 million dollars, up 53.2% from the same period last year (8.8466 million dollars). The share of exports in the first half of this year was China (30.1%), Hong Kong (27.2%), Vietnam (17.9%), Japan (9.1%), and Taiwan (8.4%). Red ginseng was exported to 14 countries in the first half of this year. In particular, red ginseng exports to China recorded $2,042,200, up 2272.2% from the same period last year ($86,100). Red ginseng extracts exported to 21 countries also showed remarkable growth in the Chinese market.
