The government of Ghana has announced a significant increase in the producer price of cocoa by 129.36%, raising it from GH¢20,928.00 per tonne to GH¢48,000.00 per tonne for the 2024/25 season. This price hike, effective from September 11, 2024, is aimed at providing stability for cocoa farmers against international market fluctuations. Additionally, the government plans to continue its support for various initiatives to enhance cocoa farming profitability, including fertilization, pruning, mass spraying, and the Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme.
