Continuous terrorist attacks on civilian ships by the Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea and Suez Canal have greatly impacted global fruit and vegetable trade, causing significant pressure on prices and increased logistics costs for exporters in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This has particularly affected Egypt, which is experiencing pressure on citrus fruit and other exports to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries, as well as Asian countries. As a result, suppliers will need to reshape their marketing strategies and importers in Asia and the United Arab Emirates will have to look for alternative suppliers in other countries, as the threat to civilian vessels in the region is unlikely to be resolved in the near future.
