Global ginger imports have seen a significant increase of 19.3% in the first half of the year, totaling US $ 467 million. The Netherlands and the United States emerged as the primary importers, with Peru being a notable exporter to these countries. China and Peru were the leading suppliers, contributing 75.8% and 8.7% of the total supply, respectively. The Dutch ginger imports surged by 60.9% to US $ 84 million, while the US imports rose by 37% to US $ 80 million. Chinese ginger imports experienced a decline of 11.3% to US $ 33 million, contrasting with a significant growth of 123.8% in Peruvian ginger imports to the US, totaling US $ 19 million.
