(Goheung=Yonhap News) Reporter Son Sang-won = On the 13th, Goheung County in Jeonnam announced that it has signed an agricultural and marine products export agreement worth 5 million dollars with a local distributor in Germany.
According to the agreement, Goheung's agricultural and marine products, including yuzu, seasoned seaweed, dried vegetables, and rice, will be exported in stages through Momogo, an Asian food ingredient distribution company based in Berlin, Germany.
Goheung County will support the export and supply system, and the Eden Food Agricultural Corporation will be responsible for quality control and shipment of the main products.
Goheung County also announced that it will seek to expand sales channels by launching pilot products that combine Goheung yuzu, which is gaining recognition as a health food.
The Goheung County delegation will also hold promotional events at distribution stores in Berlin to introduce yuzu-ade and yuzu tea.
Public official Gong Yeong-min, the mayor of Goheung County, said, "This agreement is the first step for Goheung's agricultural and marine products to reach German tables" and "we will provide generous support to help export companies increase their competitiveness in overseas markets such as Europe."
