Brazil: Government of Minas Gerais launches project to promote quality cachaça

At the opening of the 32nd Expocachaça, which takes place from July 6th to 9th, at Serraria Souza Pinto, in Belo Horizonte, the State Secretariat for Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) launched the project “Promotion of Quality Cachaça in Minas Gerais”, carried out in partnership with the Minas Gerais Agricultural Institute (IMA), the State Secretariat for Culture and Tourism (Secult), Sebrae Minas and the Faemg System, among other institutions. The objectives are to encourage the legalization of the drink and reduce the sector's clandestinity, old demands of regularized producers. The project's actions will take place on several fronts, the main ones being: encouraging regularization, institutional events, lectures on health education and technical training, in previously selected producing cities, and business roundtables in Minas Gerais and internationally.
