According to data released by the Dairy Industry and Derivative Products Union (Sindilat), the measure was expected since the end of 2024, especially after the impacts caused by the floods. The amount allocated for the acquisition is R$ 86.5 million, as detailed in the public notice nº 0004/2025, published in the Official Gazette of the State. The resources come from the Rio Grande Plan Fund (Funrigs) and are limited to the purchase of products from cooperatives with local production. The milk will be destined for families in a situation of social and nutritional vulnerability between December 2025 and May 2026.
