The government of a certain country has announced measures to address the increasing mealie-meal prices by directing the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to sell maize directly to communities in remote areas. Concurrently, FRA will continue to sell maize to millers at a fixed price of K4,000 per metric tonne to prevent exploitation. This initiative aims to mitigate the concerns raised by the surge in mealie-meal prices, which has reached as high as K300 for a 25kg bag in some regions.
