The Zimbabwean government has announced new producer prices for strategic crops including maize, traditional grains, soyabean, and sunflower. The prices will be paid by the Grain Marketing Board (GMB). The maize and traditional grains producer price is set at US$335 per metric tonne, with half paid in foreign currency and the rest in Zimbabwean dollars at the current interbank rate. Soyabeans and sunflower will attract US$580 and US$696 per tonne respectively, also partially paid in foreign currency and the rest in Zimbabwean dollars. These prices can now be bought back by all contractors.
