A new cashew processing plant is being built in Nanyamba District, Tanzania, with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons. The government has allocated 1,000 acres for the project, aiming to ensure that all cashew exports are processed starting from 2026/2027. The plant will be equipped with modern machinery and is expected to help farmers earn more by adding value to the crop. Currently, only 5% of Tanzania's cashew nuts are processed locally, with the rest being exported for value addition.
