The Grain from Ukraine initiative has successfully delivered its second batch of humanitarian aid to Sudan, with the MV Future ID shipping 14,600 tons of flour made from Ukrainian wheat. This effort aims to alleviate the suffering of two million people in Sudan amidst a severe food crisis, where a total of 18 million individuals are facing acute food shortages, including 5 million experiencing extreme hunger. Supported by a coalition of countries including Germany, Spain, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Ireland, Hungary, Canada, and Belgium, the initiative addresses the critical food insecurity in Sudan, worsened by below-average yields of the country's main grain crops.
