[Korean Farmers' News, Reporter Dong-gwang Sin] Among fresh agricultural products exported, grapes stand out with a noticeable increase in annual export value. As of the end of July, the export performance reached 17.8 million dollars, showing a 47% increase compared to the same period last year. If this trend continues, the export performance by the end of this year is expected to easily exceed 60 million dollars. Meanwhile, while the expectation for expanding overseas markets is rising due to the increase in grape exports, there is still concern about the overproduction of the main variety, Shine Muscat. To address this, exporting new grape varieties is seen as a way to increase the diversity of varieties and expand the consumer base overseas, as well as to open up new markets.
