Turkey's fresh fruits and vegetables exports increased by 14% in August, reaching a value of $148.3 million, with grapes, peaches, and tomatoes accounting for 56% of the exports, according to Nejdat Sin, Chairman of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association. The country is strengthening its position in traditional markets and expanding into the European Union and Far East. The most significant increases in export volume were seen in Greece, Libya, and Israel. The sector is also implementing cultural, biological, and biotechnical control methods against the Mediterranean Fruit Fly. The exporters have requested the Ministry of Agriculture to reduce analysis frequency and fees to enhance their competitiveness in the global market.
