Despite facing challenges like increased production costs and container rental prices, Vietnam's tuna exports experienced a 21% increase in the first half of 2021, generating $355 million. The exports saw positive growth to most major markets, except for Japan and Israel, with the US becoming the second largest tuna supplier market. The EU market also grew, with Spain becoming the third largest single market in the EU. The total export value to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) participating countries increased by 16%, with Canada and Mexico showing significant growth. Additionally, there was impressive growth in exports to small markets such as Russia, Ukraine, Lebanon, and Korea.
