Guangxi Rong'an County, a major kumquat producing area in China, is currently in the kumquat market season. The county, known for its kumquat cultivation for nearly 300 years, has become the country's largest production base for smooth skin and crispy kumquats, covering 12 towns and contributing to rural revitalization. In 2020, 'Rongan Kumquat' was selected for the China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement Protection List and won national agricultural product geographical indication registration. The planting area for 2021 is projected to reach 207,200 mu, with an estimated total output of 190,000 tons. The county leads the industry with national standards and has 15 production enterprises with green food certification. The 'Economic Kumquat Garden' and three autonomous region-level Rong'an Kumquat Industry Core Demonstration Zones are promoting the development of the industry, increasing farmers' income, and comprehensively improving modern agricultural development and new rural construction.
