Gujarat, India, has exported 689.5 metric tonnes of mangoes in the 2023-24 season, contributing to over 2,500 metric tonnes exported from 2019-20 to 2023-24. The state has dedicated 177,514 hectares to mango cultivation, with the Kesar mango variety, which has received a Geographical Indication (GI) Tag, being a significant contribution. The Gujarat Agro Radiation Processing Facility in Bavla, Ahmedabad, has also irradiated and exported 210 metric tonnes of Kesar mangoes this year. In support of the mango industry, the Gujarat Horticulture Department has allocated Rs 15.29 crore in financial assistance to farmers to boost production.
